The journey continues!  This week was an interesting one, full of twists and turns.  I received a call earlier in the week from the office of my CPA.  This was no big deal because my dealings with them had increased recently due to my change in work status, leading to a change in the set up of my business.  What I didn’t expect was for her to tell me that my business was not listed as a corporation – WHAT!  You mean to tell me that my baby, CareerVolution, is not a business??  What have I been doing for the past three years?

After I resolved my panic, I reached out to my attorney who initially set up my business for me.  She assured me that all was well, and the reason CareerVolution didn’t show up as a corporation is because it’s an LLC (limited liability corporation), so it wouldn’t show up.  Whew!  Close call.

Thanks to my updated LinkedIn profile, I received a message from a former coworker about my services.  She’s very bright, but I think she’s been struggling to find her groove for the last few years.  We meet this morning to see how I can help her.  I also landed a new client.  This is also someone I’ve known for several years.  Again, another bright individual who is struggling to find her groove.  I’m excited about helping her get out of the rut and into greener pastures.

Until this week, I had been plagued for the past month with technology problems.  Since we all know it’s is next to impossible to run a business today without technology, imagine having your internet run as slow as cold molasses, your printer not printing black ink (really?), the keys popping off of your laptop, and viruses wreaking havoc on your laptop’s performance.  It’s enough to make you throw things – guilty!

I’m happy to report that my old internet company has been kicked out and the new one is working just fine.  Also, I gave my “black ink-less” printer to my computer guy and the new one is better than the old (who knew you could send files to print from your cell phone?), and the bugs have been killed with anti-virus Raid.  Now, if I can just get this darn Backspace key to stay on….

Until next time….
