Slide1Many people have had the misfortune to discover this while others have yet to learn, but if you’re unemployed and wanting to work, your job search is your job.

I know, ugh!

But if you don’t take this approach you could prolong your opportunity to generate income for your household (and maybe some peace of mind for you) by months! I know, ugh!

Too many people try to contain their job search efforts to primarily scanning the major job boards and submitting applications/their resume, and convince themselves that they’ve done enough. After doing this for one, maybe two hours every day or two for months with possibly a few “bites” but no offers, how’s this working for you?

One of the most time-consuming aspects of a job search is networking. And, if you’re doing it well, you can spend 4-8 hours per day doing it. While that might sound like torture for you, it’s also one of the most effective ways you can spend your job search time.

If you’re serious about finding a job, make a commitment to spending 6-8 hours per day on your search. In the long run, you’ll be glad you did.

Until next time….
